Web Survey/Data Entry Wizard

About the Web Survey/Data Entry Wizard

The Engine that powers the Web Survey/Data Entry Wizard was designed and developed by Joe Whitehurst. The Engine is driven by SAS/IntrNet on the backend and uses Javascript to enable the considerable Client-side interactivity.†† All of the survey content is driven by SAS datasets. The survey engine is highly configurable and allows any given survey or data entry form to contain a number of both traditional and newly created question types or data entry techniques. The traditional question types supported include standard Likert rating scales, Multiple Choice Drop Down Boxes and Radio Control Buttons, Multichoice / Multiselect questions, standard free form text answers, etc..†† One of the new question types is the Budget Allocation question which asks the user to allocate a fixed amount of resources (budget dollars for example) among possible choices.

The most exciting feature of the new Survey Engine, however, is its ability to collect data using Role Construct Repertory Grid Methodologies derived from George Kelly's Personal Construct Psychology. These data can be used to understand the underlying personal constructs (attitudes, perceptions, behavioral dispositions, etc.) of the survey participants. This particular feature is the primary reason that the Engine was designed and developed. For more information on how Joe Whitehurst can apply Personal Construct Psychology and Role Construct Repertory Grid Methodologies using the Survey Engine within your organization, please contact us at joewhitehurst@gmail.com.For additional information about Personal Construct Psychology as propounded by George Kelly, a 20th century psychologist now widely recognized as having created a complete psychology adequate for the 21st century, see the following links:

Operating Reports For the CDC's Procurement and Grants Office

This project arose as a follow-on to the successful implementation of the SAS Systemís Strategic Performance Management Solution for the Procurement and Grants Office (PGO) at the United Statesí Centers for Disease Control. The PGO controls the annual spending of over 6 Billion Dollars of tax payer money. CDC top management wanted to focus on the PGOís performance because of the increasing large and loud complaints over delays in paper work processing that delayed or even stopped many projects deemed critical for the nationís well being by the top CDC management.Implementation of the SAS Strategic Performance Solution took about 18 months and produced score cards that gave CDC top management a daily view of what was happening to the flow of paper needed to authorize spending.CDC top management authorized the Operating Reports project so they could drill down to the level of the performance of an individual worker in the PGO.
